Rep Rebecca McWilliams

Science, Technology and Energy

Merrimack District - 27

Rebecca is a licensed architect and attorney with deep experience in both fields. She provides legal and risk management consulting services for construction professionals, real estate developers, building owners, and businesses. Her work with building clients includes contractor bad faith claims, contract negotiation and representation during dispute resolution, and insurance litigation. As a tireless advocate for children and families in New Hampshire, in 2019 she passed a bill and chaired a study committee to find solutions to barriers to childcare facility success, and filed legislation to address systemic issues in the business of child care. She was also the prime sponsor of legislation to update the state's outdated building and energy codes which when passed updated the code standard from 2009 to 2015. Rebecca will continues to fight for adopting the California Car Air Emissions Standard, incentivizing solar for NH condominiums, and increasing the Net Metering Cap for renewable energy. Rebecca and her husband live with their three children on a 130 acre vegetable farm in Concord, NH.
