FISCAL COMMITTEE ACCEPTS FEDERAL FUNDS FOR VACCINE DISRIBUTION

CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE – Today, the Joint Fiscal Committee voted to accept $22.5 million in federal funds for vaccine distribution that had been previously tabled. Rep. Mary Jane Wallner (D-Concord) released the following statement:

“New Hampshire’s COVID case count is climbing at an unsustainable pace in our schools and communities, higher now than at any point in the pandemic. The consistent, deliberate rejection of federal funds – tax dollars Granite Staters have already paid – by Republicans has significantly harmed efforts to vaccinate our state. Hospitals across New Hampshire have recently issued warnings of unprecedented numbers of patients seeking emergency care for COVID infection. I am thrilled that funding was finally accepted today, because our delay in vaccine distribution has left us vulnerable to our current caseload crisis.”
