DEMOCRATIC LEGISLATION PROVIDING MONEY FOR PFAS WELL WATER REMEDIATION BECOMES LAW

CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE Today, HB 271, groundbreaking legislation providing funding to Granite Staters for PFAS remediation and directing the Department of Environmental Services to set maximum contaminant limits on PFAS carcinogens, became law. In response to the news, Prime Sponsor of the legislation Rep. Rosemarie Rung (D-Merrimack) released the following statement:

“Today, Granite Staters, private well owners and municipalities alike, were finally given the tools to remediate toxic PFAS chemicals that pose significant risk to their life and health. This legislation is monumental in allowing the Department of Environmental Services to develop limits on these carcinogens as well as grant critical funding to hundreds of Granite State families who are impacted daily by dangerous water conditions. Everyone deserves the ability to drink their water without fear of health consequences. I am so proud that Democrats sponsored this critical initiative that has the potential to save so many lives in the Granite State.”
