Rep Joyce Weston

Commerce and Consumer Affairs

Grafton District - 8

As a native of Hollis, New Hampshire, I am thankful to have received a valuable public school education. Following an art education, I spent 46 years working in book and magazine design. After ascending to Art Director at a high-end magazine in NYC, I became a successful, award-winning independent book designer and ran my own business for 35 years. I feel I can safely claim that I am responsible, attentive to detail, honest, and reliable. I believe in community and teamwork, and I have strong organizational skills.

I returned to my native NH in 2004 with my wife Sally, and soon thereafter, I got involved with the Plymouth Area Democrats, where I ultimately served as Chair for two terms. It was a privilege for me to serve the local Democratic community, and I did my best to grow the membership, provide interesting and well-run meetings, and to work with the New Hampshire Democratic Party to find and elect good candidates.

My political focus has been in fairness in taxation and economic opportunity, expanding civil rights, and protecting the environment. I have always been proud to be a Liberal and progressive Democrat. In my “other life”, I worked in the ski industry for decades as a ski instructor (PSIA Level 3) and enjoyed summers working as a kayak guide. I have hiked the White Mountains extensively and am delighted to claim them as my backyard.
