Rep Barry Faulkner

Barry Faulkner is serving his third term in the House, representing the people of Swanzey and Richmond, and is proud to be the fifth generation of Faulkners to represent Cheshire County communities in the New Hampshire House. He has served on the Public Works and Highways Committee, working on the state’s capital program and transportation infrastructure program. Barry grew up in Keene, and settled in Swanzey when he returned to the Keene area in 2005. He went to Keene schools and Phillips Exeter Academy, and has a bachelor’s degree in American government and a master’s degree in city planning, both from Harvard, and a JD from Suffolk University Law School. He served from 1971 to 1977 in the U.S. Army Reserve, leaving with the rank of Sergeant. He now practices law in Keene as part of BCM Environmental & Land Law, PLLC. Prior to this, he had a 30-year career managing transportation planning projects and environmental analyses in Boston and New York and metropolitan areas across the country.
With his brothers, Barry owns and manages more than 400 acres of forest land and hay fields in Westmoreland and Walpole, most of which is under conservation easement and all of which is kept open to the public for hiking, hunting, picnics, or just enjoying the view. He has been married to the former Carol Orgaz of Keene for 49 years, and they have two grown children and five grandsons living in the Boston area.
