CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE – April 9,the House of Representatives passed House Bill 385, relative to workers’ compensation for heart and lung disease in firefighters. After the vote Representative Tim Soucy (D-Concord) released the following statement:
“House Bill simply makes sure that more firefighters receive workers compensation benefits for presumptive heart and lung disease by raising the age from 65 to 70. More of our firefighters are retiring later. Whether a firefighter retires young or later in life should not determine their eligibility for this coverage. I’m proud the legislature stood up to support firefighters across New Hampshire.”
