CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE – On Tuesday, February 9th the US Attorney for New Hampshire, Scott Murray, announced that a federal grand jury will be indicting Ryder Winegar for threats made to members of Congress and a New Hampshire State Representative. House Democratic Leader, Rep. Renny Cushing (D-Hampton), released the following statement:
“On behalf of the Democratic Members of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, I want to thank the Office of the United States Attorney, the New Hampshire FBI Field Office, and the New Hampshire Attorney General for their prompt investigation into a death threat made against a Democratic member of the House. The recent indictment of Ryder Winegar by a Federal Grand Jury for threatening to pull a state representative from his bed and hang him, sends a clear message that threats of violence against elected officials are threats against our democracy and will not be tolerated. My office and members of our Democratic Caucus will continue to cooperate with state and federal law enforcement officials as they work to halt all threats of political violence.”
