CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE – Today, members of the Joint Fiscal Committee received multiple emails from Chair Rep. Ken Weyler with pages of disinformation on COVID, following the cancellation of last week’s Fiscal Committee meeting which the Speaker’s Office cited was due to “waiting on information from state agencies.” In response, Rep. Mary Jane Wallner (D-Concord), Ranking Democrat on the House Finance Committee released the following statement:
“Last week’s Fiscal Committee meeting was cancelled on account of ‘waiting for information from state agencies that is critical to decision making,’ though the Chair of the Committee Rep. Weyler had previously denounced state and federal agencies, telling NHPR Reporter Josh Rogers that “there is nobody in government you can trust.” Last night, Rep. Weyler sent the entire Joint Fiscal Committee an email containing a 52 page “report” compiling lengthy disinformation on COVID, including claims that live creatures with tentacles are entering people’s bodies through the COVID vaccine, that 5G technology was placed in the vaccine to control people’s thoughts, calling the Pope and the Catholic Church satanists and luciferians for supporting public health measures, and claiming that the babies of vaccinated parents are born with pitch black eyes and can stand and even walk at only three months old. As we prepare to meet again on October 22 to take up the $27 million in federal aid, weeks behind where we could’ve been in pandemic response, we are left wondering what information we are waiting on as it certainly can’t be this. The continued dissemination of disinformation on COVID from Rep. Weyler is a danger to public health in New Hampshire and to the credibility of the legislature as a whole.”

On September 22, House Democratic Leader Renny Cushing and Ranking Member on House Finance Rep. Mary Jane Wallner sent a letter to Speaker Packard asking for Rep. Weyler to be removed as the Chair of the Finance and Fiscal Committees (a copy of the letter is attached), they have not received a response.
