ANTI-SEMITISM CANNOT STAND IN THE NEW HAMPSHIRE HOUSE

CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE – Today, House Democratic Leader Renny Cushing (D-Hampton) wrote to Speaker Packard (attached) regarding repeated incidents of anti-Semitism in the New Hampshire House and released the following statement:

“As leaders, we must stand against anti-Semitism whenever it rears its ugly head. As Speaker Packard acknowledged to me in a recent letter, multiple incidents of anti-Semitism have been committed by members of the New Hampshire House this term. There is no grey area or excuse for this behavior, as it contributes to the hatred and violence that Jewish people face on a daily basis.

I will enthusiastically join Speaker Packard in issuing a joint statement against any anti-Semitic behavior by House members and have encouraged the Speaker to remove members from both parties who engaged in anti-Semitism from their committee assignments.”
